BongoChakra: A 5,000+ km Cycling Expedition Following the Entire Borderline of Bangladesh
A partnership proposal for a planned 90-day bicycle journey along the outer edges of Bangladesh, connecting around 40 districts through stories, community rides and field content.

One country, one complete circle
Expedition বঙ্গচক্র is a planned bicycle journey of more than 5,000 kilometres around the border of Bangladesh. It is designed to explore the country from its outermost edges while connecting people, places, stories and communities along the way.
The expedition is scheduled to begin on 5 November 2026 in the Sundarbans, chosen for its extraordinary natural, cultural and heritage significance. After approximately 90 days on the road, the route is intended to return to the Sundarbans and close a full circle around the country.
These figures describe the current plan. The final route, schedule, activations and content commitments will be confirmed with route conditions and partner agreements.

I will try to stay as close to the border as possible throughout the journey. In many sections, however, there are no roads to follow, while border tensions and conflict-related security concerns may make other stretches inaccessible. Following the exact border line will therefore not be possible. The riding route will adapt to available roads and local conditions, moving inland where necessary. These maps illustrate the intended circle around Bangladesh rather than an exact, confirmed cycling track.
One journey, many stories
Distance gives the expedition its structure, but people will give it meaning. The route is expected to pass through around 40 districts, including border roads, rural communities, river regions, hills, forests, coastal areas and some of the most remote parts of Bangladesh.
Along the way, I plan to document livelihoods, food, traditions, nature, heritage and everyday life. Friends and fellow cyclists can join selected sections, and local riders will be welcome to ride part of the route. That participatory format can turn one expedition into a sequence of community rides, conversations and local moments shared with a growing national audience.
Activity across the route
The expedition is planned to create continuous digital and on-ground engagement through:
- Daily photographs, videos, stories and route updates
- Community meetings and local storytelling
- Group rides with cyclists and supporters
- Visits to culturally and environmentally significant places
- Relevant product use, demonstrations and partner activations
- Interviews, media appearances and expedition updates
- Long-form documentary and post-expedition storytelling
The result can be a 90-day narrative in which audiences experience Bangladesh from one edge to another, rather than a single campaign moment.
A moving platform for brand engagement
With more than 5,000 kilometres of planned travel, around 40 districts and approximately 90 days of field activity, Expedition বঙ্গচক্র offers partners a place inside a large national journey. Integration can extend across apparel, bicycles, equipment, route graphics, photographs, videos, community activities, events, media appearances and campaign communication.
These diagrams show possible placements only. Final branding will be adapted to partner objectives, visibility, rider safety and the practical limits of expedition equipment.
Telecommunications and technology
Navigation, field uploads, daily check-ins and support coordination create a direct link with connectivity. The route can demonstrate how people stay connected while moving between major towns and remote regions, with honest reporting on coverage and field conditions.
Mobile financial services and financial technology
Local markets, small merchants, accommodation, food and transport provide natural settings for stories about everyday transactions. Any integration will reflect services that are actually available in the places visited.
FMCG and consumer brands
Food, hydration, hygiene and everyday essentials are part of the daily expedition routine. Relevant partners can explore product use, retailer engagement, sampling and community activities through an agreed activation plan.
The journey can also accommodate mobility, outdoor equipment, nutrition, healthcare, apparel, consumer electronics, hospitality and sustainability partners.
Partnership formats
The exact scope will be designed with each partner. Naming association, category exclusivity, content licensing, product integration and route activations are subject to final agreement.

Proof from the road: LankaChakra
Expedition বঙ্গচক্র is ambitious, but it grows from completed field experience. In 2026, my wife Subah and I completed LankaChakra, an approximately 1,500 kilometre clockwise bicycle journey around Sri Lanka. We rode for 21 days, with work and rest days in addition, carrying our equipment and adapting to heat, headwinds, route interruptions and remote conditions.
That journey taught us how to prepare bicycles for air travel, work while moving, make daily route decisions, document the road and accept help without losing the expedition’s independence. It also showed how one clear route can hold many human stories.
